Franz Schubert’s Litany for the Feast of All Souls (D. 343), often known as Am Tage Aller Seelen, is an achingly beautiful sacred lied composed in 1816. Set to a contemplative poem by Johann Georg Jacobi, the hauntingly prayerful melody serves as a universal plea for peace and rest for the departed. Solo flute, 2 flutes and alto flute.
