The Scherzo is the dynamic third movement (molto vivace)of Antonin Dvorak’s famous Symphony No.9 in E minor, Op.95, popularly known as the “New World Symphony”. It features a driving, dance-like energy influenced by Native American rhythms described in Henry Wadsworth Longfellow’s poem The Song of Hiawatha. 3 flutes and alto. Advanced level.
