Description
This movement is characterised by the use of a developing variation. A brooding theme with a counter melody begins then a second theme, marked L’istesso tempo, ma grazioso, appears. After a brief development section, the recapitulation of the first theme is highly modified. The movement then finishes with a coda like section in which the main theme is reintroduced in the end. Arranged for 3 flutes and alto. Advanced level.
